
Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers (born October 1 1989) popularly referred to as Brie Larson is an American actress. Known for her supporting roles in comedies at the age of a teenager, she has since expanded to leading roles in independent films as well as blockbusters. Larson has received numerous accolades including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. She also won an Primetime Emmy Award. Time magazine named Larson as one of the 100 most influential people of the world for the year 2019. Larson was admitted at age six into the American Conservatory Theater's education program. Her acting career began in 1998 when she appeared in a comedy sketch on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Larson was an actress in the sitcom Raising Dad and briefly dabbled with a music career, releasing the album Finally out of P.E. in 2005. Larson was later seen in parts in comedy films Hoot (2006) as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), and 21 Jump Street (2012) and also appeared as a sardonic teenager on the television series United States of Tara (2009-2011).Her breakthrough was when she landed a lead role in the acclaimed independent drama Short Term 12 (2013) as well as continuing to perform supporting roles in the romantic drama The Spectacular Now (2013) and the comedy Trainwreck (2015). Larson received nominations for the Academy Award as Best Actress for her role as a kidnapping victim during the dramatic Room (2015). The 2017 adventure film Kong: Skull Island marked her first big-budget release, following which she was cast as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with Captain Marvel (2019).
