Firefly The Firefly, the new hit Whedon show, grew out of one-off episodes. Summer Glau played River Tam without difficulty. Glau was an excellent actress. In the role of Tam her character, she was enticed into government-sponsored experiments where she was prepared to become the perfect assassin. Tam was unable to manage her emotions, as a result. Glau was able to display her combat abilities as well as her acting talent in Firefly. It was also evident that being trained to be an assassin enabled Glau to make the most of her athletic skills. Summer Glau has been a ballerina since the time she was a child. She has also studied Flamenco and Tango, however her foot injury put an end to her dancing career. Firefly only lasted only one season but the show garnered a large fan following. Whedon got so passionate about Firefly that he went back after a few years. Summer Glau however continued to perform with high-quality. Summer Glau was a regular on TV programs such as Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
